About the Dental Insider

TheDentalInsider.com, is a true and valued online resource created by a state licensed dental hygienist. This site is for patients or non-industry consumers who want to learn more about the ins and outs of dentistry, its services and nuances.

Inspiration for TheDentalInsider.com comes after listening to years of dental horror stories and addressing the same common dental questions from patients and friends. TheDentalInsider.com offers dental skeptics and patients alike an insider view into the world of dentistry. Here they can educate themselves on dental symptoms, safety, recipes, technology, procedures, products and office management issues from a non-bias dental professional perspective

As the creator, my intent is to give people a reliable, no holds barred resource to research dental topics that are important or unclear to them. While still strongly supporting organized dentistry, my primary focus is patient empowerment and well-being. That’s what differentiates this site from other dental websites.

I’ve been in dentistry for over 20 years and have worked in a range of dental specialties and offices. My interest in patient education comes from my own personal experience with dental fraud, quackery and the transmission of misinformation. I graduated from University of Southern California and am an editorial contributor to many of the dental trade magazines such as RDH Magazine, Inside Dentistry, and Dentaltown.
